The Secretariat of the Council sends a circular letter to leading scientists in the field asking for nominations of candidates, and the ‘Académie des Sciences de l'Institut de France’ does the same with its members.

For the Prize, any scientist competent in the designated domain can be a candidate, but he/she cannot propose him/herself. Nominations must be put forward on the designated form to be completed by the NOMINATOR, exclusively, and must include:

  • notably, an argued scientific rationale for merit
  • a curriculum vitae of the candidate (no more than 2 pages)
  • a list of up to 10 key papers published by the candidate relevant to the topic of the Prize (maximum 1 page).
Members of the Jury can nominate candidates.
Nominations are not to be made public ; discretion is requested in obtaining CV and bibliographic materials from the nominee.
